Buddha-Bar London review

The Buddha Bar is a uniquely creative space which has been winner of the Best Restaurant and Bar Award at the London and Club awards – adding to its status as one of the coolest venues in the capital.

It has a number of different private and semi-private areas that make the most of this beautifully designed two floor venue and has recently launched its conference package with a daily delegate rate of just £79.95 per person (plus VAT) including three rounds of tea and coffee, a three course lunch and an Asian-influenced tea.

On the first floor are two semi-private areas which can hold 10 and 25. Ideal for standing canapé events, receptions and after work drinks, the larger space is next to the DJ booth and both have easy access to the bar. The rooms have dark walls, with mirror features and cosy gold and black banquettes featuring Japanese style dragon motifs.

The main private room is down the striking staircase, flanked by two dragon chandeliers made from hanging glass baubles. Pre-event drinks receptions can be held in an area underneath these stairs allowing guests to appreciate these dragons’ beauty, before entering the private room which seats up to 55 or 70 standing. The low ceilings and dark wood are contrasted with the decorative fans, parquet wooden floor, blue and gold banquettes and mirrors on the far wall adding to the Asian fusion vibe. Two heavy doors can be used for complete privacy – or pulled back to let guests enjoy the full vibe of the main restaurant.

Three other semi private alcoves are available in the downstairs main restaurant – each with Thai style arches, red and gold banquette seating and backlit walls making them a very atmospheric place to enjoy a small private event for up to 12 guests. On the same floor is the small private room, similarly decorated but with red and black mottled walls and full privacy available. For these alcoves and rooms a pre ordered set menu is offered.

Each floor or the whole venue can also be hired and these are ideal for larger events such as product launches, wedding receptions, corporate networking. The atmosphere of Buddha Bar gives an extremely creative, on-trend vibe, which fits well with many young and cutting edge brands as well as guests who just want something different.

Private dining menus offer a set lunch menu for £45 per person with Japanese style sharing platters for starters and main, with individual desserts, while dinner menus cost from £65-110 based on the same principle. Bespoke deluxe menus including all the top seasonal specialities range from £180 – £200, while canapé menus start at £30 per person for a 10 – 12 piece selection.

Minimum spends depend on time and date of event but range from £750 for smaller off-peak events to £60,000 for exclusive use of the whole venue.
