It can seem a daunting challenge to find a private space for a group dining event in the capital city. The sheer diversity of venues with private event spaces – from gastro pub function rooms to opulent private dining rooms (PDRs) at London’s fine dining and Michelin starred restaurants makes it hard to know where to start. Centrally located on London’s historic Covent Garden piazza, Tuttons has been serving its well-priced delicious cuisine for over 30 years. The interior has a unique brasserie feel and alfresco dining tables are available for the warmer months of the year. The two private dining rooms at Tuttons –  known as The Vaults – are situated below the main restaurant in the old cellars.  The smaller private dining room in The Vaults accommodates up to 18 seated (35 standing) guests with the second larger private space seating up to 28 and also having sufficient space for up to 50 guests for standing drinks receptions.

The Fellow gastro pub – just a couple of minutes walk from King’s Cross and St. Pancras stations – is operated by Geronimo Inns, part of the capital city’s ancient Youngs Brewery. This makes it an ideal venue for private events in the centre of town and ensures that the food and drink on offer can be relied upon at all times. The dining room at The Fellow seats up to 25 guests and is also available for standing drinks receptions of up to 30 guests. The first floor Black Door Cocktail Bar has its own terrace and accommodates up to 30 seated (60 standing) guests.

The Hour Glass pub, located on Brompton Road in South Kensington, serves delicious chef-prepared food. Beers are supplied by the award winning Scottish Harviestoun Brewery alongside a great selection of wines from Chelsea wine merchants, Haynes Hanson & Clark. The private dining room at The Hour Glass accommodates up to 25 seated guests or a maximum of 40 for informal drinks receptions.

The Crusting Pipe | Covent Garden | WC2E 8RD

Crusting Pipe wine bar in Covent Garden’s The Market is operated by fifth generation wine merchants, Davy’s, established in 1870 and one of the capital city’s oldest wine importers.  A three minute stroll from Covent Garden tube, this atmospheric West End venue serves an eclectic range of British classic and Modern European cuisine complemented – as might be expected – with a fine selection of wines. For more intimate group dining events, The Boardroom PDR seats up to 8 and the Office semi-private room seats up to 6. The Apple, Banana and Market Cellar semi-private spaces can accommodate 14 – 18 seated guests or up to 20 standing guests for drinks receptions. The Garden Cellar is a larger semi-private dining space able to seat up to 36 guests.

Operated by Fuller’s – another centuries old London brewery – The Parcel Yard at King’s Cross station occupies the Grade I listed old Victorian office spaces within the station complex. Oozing period charm and set over two floors, this historic venue is a train spotter’s paradise. For smaller events, The Boardroom and The Games Room respectively seat 12 and 10 guests for group dining events. The First Class Lounge accommodates up to 35 seated (60 standing) guests and The Station Master’s Office accommodates up to 27 seated (40 standing) guests.  For large group events, The Waiting Room accommodates up to 100 seated (120 standing) guests and The Loft Bar can hold up to 120 seated (250) standing guests.

The Millicent Fawcett Room seats up to 8 guests for smaller group dining events with The Library providing a semi-private dining room for up to 16. For larger events The Lecture Room & Library Restaurant is available to hire for up to 40 seated guests.
