The Gay Hussar has been Soho’s favourite haunt of artists, politicians and writers for over 60 years. Signed first editions and political cartoons of famous diners by Martin Rowson adore the walls making a visit to the Gay Hussar a unique and enjoyable experience. The Hungarian food served at the Gay Hussar is rich and satisfying making sure that no one ever leaves feeling hungry.
The menu offers an extensive choice of national specialities, such as pleasantly spicy Beef Goulash Soup, Chicken in Creamy Paprika Sauce and Poppy Seed Strudel. You can also sample a variety of fine Hungarian wines, including the famous Tokaji dessert wine, as well as a selection of Palinkas – fruit infused spirits.
For parties, diners can enjoy dinners and lunches in private rooms accommodating from 12 – 25 guests. There is no room hire charge and short notice booking are accepted whenever possible.
