Overview

Cocochan's Purple Dokoro area has purple long seating with black square bamboo tables and its ceiling partially covered with mirrored origami-lattice work. There is a minimum wwkend spend of £20 per head with a minimum weekend spend of £25 per head.

The White Dokoro area has white circular tables and white seating, in the area with almost open air feeling because of the sun-beaming from the glass ceilings. Set next to the stylish restaurant bar, part of the wall is covered with Cocochan’s signature origami-lattice work. This area can accommodate up to 20 people to dine. Same minimum spend as above.

The Gold Dokoro area is surrounded by golden mirrored origami lattice work, this area is located right opposite the restaurant bar, and also has large windows on the other side, glitzy mirror work on the wall and ceiling occasionally reflects the light from the outside and inside, giving the contrast to its dark square tables and seating. This area can accommodate up to 25 people. Same minimum spend as above.

The Lounge Basement area is tucked under the restaurant, our lounge bar boasts a 6 metre long sofa opposite to the bar. Can be used for morning conference / business meeting, or as a private dining / party room. It can hold up to 35 people for private dining, and up to 80 people for canape & drink occasion. Same minimum spend as above.

Insider View

I love purple velvet, I mean I really love it. There’s a luxury about it that no other colour or material can quite compete with. So you can imagine my delight at Cocochan, on discovering rooms with purple velvet banquettes – oh and sushi.

The ground level main restaurant incorporates three different dining areas, which can be sectioned off individually. There’s the purple banquette area or purple dokoro, as it’s known, which is generally used as the restaurant space, the white dokoro at the back of the restaurant, which is ideal for lunchtime parties for up to 18 seated (25 drinks) because, despite being at the back of the restaurant, it has a full length sky light giving it a light and airy feel. The white chairs set off the black tables, black glasses, white chopsticks and white napkins.

The gold dokoro is the largest of the ground floor rooms with, as the name would suggest, gold mirrors behind the dark wooden lattice-work. The area is a large third of the street level restaurant space so ideal for parties who wish to smoke or just enjoy the bustling street outside. It seats 30 maximum or 45 for drinks and canapés but can also be used as a reception area for larger functions when hired in conjunction with the downstairs area. Linked by a separate staircase – there are two to get to the basement – this allows functions to enjoy complete privacy if required.

The downstairs private dining room has more of those gorgeous purple velvet banquettes. It has a clubby feel with its mirrored walls, shiny grey wall paper and rainbow changing light options, but it can also be tailored to any event and is in fact often used for product launches and works evenings. It also has two semi-private booths which seat a maximum of eight each and allow an element of privacy without being cut off from the ambience of the venue.

The DJ booth and bar also allows for late evening events. It holds around 35 for dinner or 80 for a drinks reception. Specialists in classic raw sushi and shortly nigiri and dragon rolls, the Japanese sushi chef used to be at Cocoon before joining Cocochan. Group set menus are £25 – £45 a head with a festive four course menu for £35 per person. The canapé menu starts at £1.50 a piece.
