The team behind Shoreditch’s super-popular Jones Family Project have opened their second venture, this time bringing their unique hospitality, steaks and more to Belgravia.
Located in the brand new Eccleston Yard development – a fabulous new ‘secret’ courtyard in the former old coachworks that’s now a heavenly oasis bustling with independent and creative businesses, The JFK shares a wealth of features that made its Shoreditch sister such a local favourite. Yet it also has its own distinct vibe that suits its elegant location on the borders of Victoria and Belgravia.
The open plan restaurant has several sectionable semi-private areas, as well as a stunning outdoor terrace in the courtyard that can be used in the event of an exclusive hire.
With an industrial structure and vast windows spanning the length of the restaurant and bar, natural light floods in and the views of the courtyard are prime too. Other features include bespoke chandeliers, plush pale plum velvet and leather banquettes, deep plum ceilings, floral walls, strikingly fun artwork and wrought ironwork as room dividers, enabling the space to be extremely versatile.
The Garden Room is set back from the main restaurant and can be hired as a semi-private area for 20 – 35 or in conjunction with the main restaurant for up to 60 guests. On the other side, the bar can be set for 20 guests at a long table, or used for receptions during an exclusive hire, prior to guests eating in the garden room and restaurant. Pre-dinner drinks or drinks receptions for 20 – 25 can also be hosted in bar area and screened or roped off for a fun & buzzy area with a great view.
Menus are compiled by JFK’s new head chef, Ollie Pollard whose pedigree includes stints at Barrafina, Marcus Wareing and Jason Atherton. With meat from the Ginger Pig and fish from sustainable suppliers Flying Fish, there’s a surprising amount to please guests who want something other than steak – from pork, chicken and fish, to vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options (they even have their own menus for the last two!).
For private dining, the three course set menus start at £37.50, rising to £55 for the Meat Feast – all cooked on their state of the art Josper Grill. Guests are provided with a selection of starters and desserts, while mains can be offered as family sharing style or pre-chosen. Canapé menus start at £17.50 per person for a selection of 8 savoury and sweet options.
Of course, there’s also the renowned Jones cocktail menu, with a selection of some of Shoreditch favourites as well as their own creations, wine cocktails and even gluten free beer.
There’s no room hire but a minimum spend of £2,500 for the Garden Room or £3,750 for the Garden Room and main restaurant. For exclusive hire, the minimum spend depends on the time and date of event but includes the bar, Garden Room, main restaurant and outside terrace.
The restaurant has full disabled access, is children friendly, baby friendly and even dog friendly (they will be given their own bowl of water outside) and the outside terrace is fully non-smoking (although smoking is allowed a moment away in a designated section of the yard).
