1 Lombard Street
This City stalwart is actually a bit of a chameleon. At any time of the day or night during the week it is buzzing with corporate guests having meetings, business lunches or dinners, but it is also a great venue for less business oriented events. With three spaces for hire, the main restaurant is often used exclusively at weekends for wedding receptions of up to 450 standing or 200 seated.
The stunning central round bar and glass ceiling give the room an extra elegance and sophistication that make it perfect for special occasions. The 1776 room at the back of the main restaurant can seat up to 60 and is flooded with natural light having 5 sets of double windows as well as two stunning chandeliers. The Tiffany green walls and white clothed tables give the room a chic and elegant feel, refined but without feeling stuffy – the light enough for lunch but warm enough for dinner.
Wifi and portable plasma screens are available on request for corporate events, while there is also piano in the room for more musical affairs. Downstairs, the private dining room seats 25 on one long table or 40 on rounds. Having recently been redecorated, it has a more urban feel with light grey walls softened by green armless padded leather chairs and wooden floors. With dimmable lighting, its own bar and a 50 inch plasma screen, it is as often used for breakfast meetings as corporate dinners and private events.
Set menus range from £42 – £72 for three courses including tea, coffee and VAT plus 15% service charge, however parties up to 25 can choose from a reduced a la carte. Breakfast costs £14.50 per person for Continental or £20 for Continental and Full English. There’s no minimum spend (except in November and December), just a minimum number of guests and room hire is only charge for breakfast (£350 + VAT).
