Often described as a perfect slice of Paris in London, Boudin Blanc is a French institution in the heart of Shepherds Market that’s been delighting locals and tourists with its authentic French cuisine since 1993.
The whole bistro oozes Parisienne ambience, from the bare American oak wooden floorboards and uneven stairwells, to the comfy sage green banquettes, cosy low ceilings and wonky walls – there’s not a right angle in the place.
Boudin Blanc offers two private rooms, The Cellar Room and Le Petit Salon which are both often used for personal events such as birthday parties, wedding receptions and christening celebrations and local dinners as well as corporate entertaining for lunch and dinner.
The team are very flexible and make every effort to accommodate group wishes – from flowers and birthday cakes to bespoke menus and more.
The Cellar Room, located on the lower ground floor, is a wonderfully private and atmospheric space. It features its own bar as well as views into the vaulted cellar beyond and the walls are adorned with a large distressed mirror, Parisienne style artwork and framed labels of rare vintages adding to the ambience. Parties of up to 16 can be hosted on the round table, which is simply set up with white table cloths and in the evening is also candlelit. The room has air conditioning and light jazz music which can be turned off or changed if guests wish to bring their own.
Le Petit Salon is an ante-room off the main first floor restaurant. It also has its own bar and can seat up to 20 in a U shape or 16 on a large square. With two sash windows providing plenty of natural light, the room is often used for lunches as well as dinners.
Two set menus are offered at £42.95 and £49.50 for three courses, but the chef also offers private events the option of a pre-ordered a la carte, or bespoke set menu if arranged before the event.
Canapés are available on request (£6.50 for 3 pieces) and include irresistible bites such as foie gras on toast.
Vegetarian, allergy and gluten free diets can all be catered for. Menus change seasonally, with all ingredients impeccably sourced.
The restaurant also boasts its own pastry section ensuring desserts are always top notch!
Boudin Blanc also prides itself on its excellent wine list. With four sommeliers it offers an extensive cellar of over 500 French and international varieties, with many top quality wines served by the glass, as well as a large selection of champagne and after dinner digestifs. Grand Crus are available, while house wine starts at a remarkably reasonable £25 for Chateau Laulerie Merlot and Sauvingon Blanc.
The brasserie is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner, there’s no room hire or minimum spend unless numbers are less than 12 for either the Cellar Room or Le Petit Salon, in which case there is a nominal room hire charge of £250.
For non-private group dining, there are also a number of banquette seating areas in the main ground and first floor restaurants which can be reserved for parties and groups from 8 – 15.
The first floor can be hired exclusively upon request for up to 50 guests.
