Owned by Marco Pierre White, London Steakhouse Company is famed for its 28 day aged steaks from top butcher’s Aubrey Allen. The award-winning steakhouse in the heart of the Square Mile has a delightful private room for just 20 complete with a stylish cocktail bar and even boasts a discrete entrance. Three course set menus start at just £27.50.

The candlelit Wine Cellar at Canto Corvino provides a wonderfully atmospheric venue for a festive celebration and ensures any work do will feel more convivial than corporate. Part of the popular Manicomo group, there is room for 24 seated or 40 standing and parties can choose from the a la carte or opt for the Christmas feasting menu with sharing starters and some mouth-watering classic Carne and Pesce options for main – all priced individually.

With three wood-panelled private rooms able to host between 6 and 28 guests, The Bottlescrue from Davy’s Wine Group offer discrete vino-centric options for smaller parties. With a variety of festive offers on food and wine over Christmas as well as 20% off for early bookings between 20-28th November, it’s a great venue, even if just for a cheeky pre-Christmas get together!

Over in Fleet Street, the Humble Grape has a wonderful intimate dining space for just 16, complete with corked walls and atmospheric lighting. Dinners are often paired with bespoke wine tastings, making the most of the amazing wine list brimming with incredible wines from small family-run vineyards – and all delivered without fuss in their distinctive down-to-earth style.  Top tip!.. guests can even buy a bottle of their favourite from the shop to take home!

Another wine-lovers’ paradise can be found at Cabotte where the two private rooms on the first floor can host 11 guests in the Magnum Room with views of the kitchen and rare wine displays or 18 in the larger private room – a great size for an office party but not enough to make a dent in the 600-strong, Burgundy-heavy wine list! Christmas menus start at £60 per person, use seasonal ingredients and guests are able to pre-order or choose on the day for smaller groups. There’s also a canapé menu available for standing receptions.

Cinnamon Kitchen remains a popular candidate for many a corporate Christmas party, providing a great and accessible location as well as amazingly versatile spaces from the funky modern Anise cocktail bar for 150, the lower terrace for up to 100 or even an exclusive restaurant takeover for 130 guests. Parties enjoy platters of the beautifully spiced dishes and sumptuous festive party menus have been designed to showcase the best of their modern Indian cuisine. The incredibly stylish Grade 1 listed Lloyds is a wonderful venue for elegant corporate Christmas festivities for up to 200 guests. The iconic building is unique with rooms ranging in style from traditional to contemporary. The Banqueting Suite is especially versatile with its blank canvas enabling planners to work with caterers Elior to make each event bespoke and tailored, whether it’s a dinner, dinner dance or reception for up to 400.

Just a short stride from the Bank of England, Browns Old Jewry has an upper mezzanine area that can host up to 120 guests or 250 as an exclusive hire. The newly refurbished former Commonwealth Bank of Australia has high ceilings and an imposing décor that add a certain panache to any Christmas event. Menus include three course dinners, canapé and buffet options as well as festive afternoon teas and ‘party packages’ of champagne, beer, wine and more. Top tip: Get in quick! A favourite venue for City firms to hold their Christmas entertainment is a livery hall. Herbert Berger at Innholders Hall boasts The Great Room which can host up to 94 guests seated in fabulous oak panelled surrounds. With Berger’s mix of contemporary and classical cooking using seasonal and carefully sourced ingredients, Innholders Hall perfectly mixes historical gravitas with contemporary style. Christmas menu packages start at £68 per person.

Another imposing City building with high ceilings, huge windows & oak floors is The Mercer. With a true sense of occasion that’s perfect for Christmas celebrations and now with new private dining spaces, the Mercer can accommodate 100 in each of the ground floor and main restaurants or up to 300 as an exclusive hire on Fridays and Saturdays. Private dining menus focus on British classic and contemporary food using carefully sourced seasonal British produce.

Situated next to the Museum of London is the quirkily elegant London Wall Bar and Kitchen. With availability for exclusive takeovers for up to 90 guests for seated events or 200 for standing in the winter, the venue is often used for full private hire with a DJ. Five courses cost just £35 per person for the full Christmas menu.
