Ever since Rocky Aoki opened the very first Benihana over 60 years ago, the philosophy has stayed the same: “my kitchen is your table.”

Every dish is sliced, flamed and cooked right in front of you, by a chef performing just for your group on a sizzling teppan grill. It’s part meal, part live theatre, and it’s why we call it EATertainment, a dining experience genuinely unlike anywhere else in London.

At Benihana Covent Garden, that same show is available across three different ways to bring a group to the grill, whatever the size of your event.

Private dining events at Benihana Covent Garden

Restaurant semi-private dining

Semi-private dining is the most relaxed option, seating 9 to 16 guests within the main restaurant. Reserve your own space and enjoy all the atmosphere, energy and buzz of a full Benihana dining room, while your group gets its own dedicated teppan grill and its own chef performing course by course. It’s a natural fit for birthdays, team celebrations, or any occasion that calls for a party rather than a closed-door room.

Private Dining Room

For a more contained setting, our Private Dining Room seats 10 to 18 guests, set apart from the main restaurant and built around two teppan grills with two chefs performing just for your table. It’s the space of choice for corporate lunches and dinners, milestone birthdays, and any celebration that calls for a room with a door that closes. Guests can choose from our set menus, with the flexibility to add extra appetisers or sushi, and reception drinks and beverage packages are available on request. Minimum spend starts from £75 per person, plus service charge.

Rocky’s Room

At the top end, Rocky’s Room occupies the whole of the Lower Ground Floor, a private hire space built entirely around the teppan experience, with multiple grills and multiple chefs performing at once. Book it as a full private hire for exclusive use of the whole floor, for parties of up to 64 guests, or take it on a semi-private basis for a smaller group from 30 upwards. Whichever way you book it, every table still gets its own chef and its own performance.

December is Benihana’s busiest month for group bookings, and all three spaces at Covent Garden, Semi-Private Dining, the Private Dining Room and Rocky’s Room, are available throughout for parties of 9 to 64 guests, all on our standard set menus.

There’s no separate festive menu at Benihana; it’s simply the same live show your guests already love, in a space that’s entirely yours. Christmas dates are typically booked from September onwards, so early enquiries are strongly recommended.
