Morito Hackney Road, owned by chefs Sam & Sam Clark, opened its third restaurant at 195 Hackney Road in 2016. The restaurant is known for its diverse and delicious menu inspired by Southern Spain, North Africa, and the Eastern Mediterranean.

Morito Hackney Road offers an interesting selection of wines primarily from mainland Spain and Portugal, as well as some lesser-known wines from the Canary Islands. The wine list includes a variety of options, including sparkling, white, red, pink, and orange wines, with many available by the glass. They also have a list of Sherry and Vermouth for those interested in exploring more.

The restaurant’s design is a collaborative effort with artist Dillwyn Smith and Hackney-based designer Sam Newt. It features a distinctive horseshoe-shaped marble-topped bar, polished concrete floor, vibrant colors, an open kitchen, and large windows that create a bright and airy dining space.

Private dining events at Morito Hackney

Morito Hackney Road offers a unique private dining experience in their event space called “Downstairs at Morito.” This space is available for private hire and can accommodate group dining events with 20 or more seated guests. On alternate Tuesday evenings, they host Morito Music Nights in this space, combining food and live music to support local talent.

To book Downstairs at Morito for private events, there is a minimum spending requirement of £1,500 for lunch and £2,000 for dinner, plus a service charge. The space was designed by Studiomama in collaboration with the restaurant, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests.
