Venues for big teams and large company Christmas do’s

These are our top picks for the really big bashes – think exclusive takeovers, large corporate do’s – that sort of thing. If that’s your bag there are plenty of places out there that also have character, style and won’t make your event feel like just another bland do with insipid chicken in a white sauce & cheap wine.

For Soho style but with big capacity – our top spots are Kettner’s Restaurant & Champagne Bar– a perennial favourite with 7 separate spaces for up to 120 guests and with something for every budget – Christmas dining packages start at just £49.50 for the full sit down do or £2.50 for canapes/£5.95 for bowl food . There are even 6 different drinks packages to choose from.

Or nearby at Carom – the huge basement space can be used for exclusive takeovers for up to 450 guests – choose between £35 or £45 set menus for a luxury Indian-themed Christmas do.

Over in Mayfair, Hush and the Elysee provide versatile spaces that can be used as stand alone smaller private rooms or whole floor takeovers – Elysee with a traditional Greek theme and plate smashing optional.

And for spaces with fabulous views, it’s not just the Shard– there are many amazing London skyscrapers with penthouse restaurants and private function rooms. Try Aqua for fantastic views over Oxford Street – especially festive at this time of year –and enjoy their recently revamped tapas or Japanese style cuisine and of course their uber-cool Aqua Spirit bar for pre and post dinner drinks.

Over in the City, the latest must-go venue is Yauatcha in Broadgate Circle – only opened this year so guaranteed to be fresh to even the most seasoned colleague – located on the top floor of the amphitheatre style Circle, its floor to ceiling, end to end windows overlook the whole area – and is guaranteed to be one of this year’s hottest Christmas party venues.

Other top notch venues include Herbert Berger at the Master Innholders – steeped in history and with striking wood panelled private rooms, the food is second to none and is the driving force behind changes in the way the old livery hall dining is seen and delivered.

One of the area’s largest private dining rooms is found at The Brewery in the City of London can accommodate between 72 and 700 seated guests.

If you’re an arty crowd and up for a gamble, the Matcham Room at the Hippodrome Casino on Leicester Square is the answer to the backstage party. Situated behind the casino and with the stage curtains as a backdrop this amazing space has room for up to 160 guests seated (300 standing) and has full AV, sound and lighting to accommodate any type of conference or live performance.

And finally, if you haven’t come across The River Rooms before, they’re definitely worth checking out. With stunning waterside views, the venue’s in house caterers are adept at offering almost any type of cuisine required – enabling you to have the most flexibility possible when choosing the menu. (Banqueting for up to 500) Prices start at £80 + VAT for a 3-course seated dinner including a glass of sparkling on arrival, half a bottle of wine during the meal and a finale with tea, coffee & petit fours.
