The Hampshire Hog.

The Hampshire Hog was transformed from a formerly grim pub into its current operation by creative owners Abigail Osborne and Tamsin Olivier who worked wonders with it – so much so, that it’s become a local landmark, expanding last year to include two new private dining rooms upstairs which are now regularly used for wedding and christening receptions, birthday celebrations, as well as local company leaving do’s and even family dinners with kids.

The Mirror Room and White Room are west London’s best kept secret – the former seats up to 20 guests – with white and cream walls with grey dado rails, two sash windows looking out onto King Street. The walls are adorned with strikingly large distressed gilt mirrors and comfortable padded bucket chairs ideal for longer meetings.

The white room meanwhile is more feminine in feel, stunning with its floor to ceiling sheer white linen curtains framing the five stunning, original sash windows. The private room just shouts wedding or christening reception, although its white décor is also the perfect foil for other more colourful celebrations with guests often using the room as a blank canvas – bringing their own flowers and decorations to create their own style for the night. With room for up to 40 guests seated.

The popular gastro pub also has a variety of private and semi-private spaces on the ground floor, from the smaller pantry seating up to 20 (or 40 standing) this epitome of French shabby chic features a stripped wooden floor, distressed white wood table, chairs and chandeliers, decorated with antique tea services, old metal jugs holding simple flower displays.

The main dining room can also be hired for semi private events as can two separate areas in the garden – the Pergola and the Deck – all of which can also be hired as part of an exclusive takeover of the premises.

There’s no room hire but minimum spends starting at around £300 for events (£400 for the White Room), although business meeting costs are negotiable depending on the time and date of event and include tea and organic coffee. Worth noting is that there’s no minimum spend on Mondays to reserve the main dining room. The Happy Hour (5-7pm nightly) offers two cocktails for an extremely competitive £10 a pair and is available in the private rooms.

Menus include everything from breakfast, lunch and dinner to canapés, high teas, sharing platters, bbq or feast menus and roasts. Sharing platters start at just £15 a head, feasts at £25, and reduced a la carte menus from £25 for 2 courses. The venue is also child-friendly – with entertainers available for entertainment. There is disabled access and facilities on the ground floor and all dietary requirements can be catered for.
