Overview

The Princess Victoria is a stunningly restored ‘Gin Palace’ with a private dining room that is perfect for that special event. The glittering chandelier lit room, decorated with ornate mirrors, a solid wood floor and with its own marble topped bar has a ‘grand’ and yet at the same time intimate air.

Within months of opening The Princess Victoria was awarded with many ‘gongs’ including ‘Time Out New Gastropub 2008”, ‘Best Wine Pub of the Year 2009’ by Harpers, The Independent’s ‘Best UK Wine List of the Year’ and ‘Newcomer of the Year’ In the Top 30 Gastropubs 2009 awards.

Matt Wilkin (Master Sommelier) along with his business partner James McLean (himself a former Young Chef of the Year) have brought there combined years of Michelin starred restaurant experience to this elegant pub to offer the best of seasonal and artisanal ingredients to be enjoyed in a less formal and relaxed environment.

The Private Function Room is flexible in its format, being able to entertain from 15 to 60 people. It is the perfect environment for christenings, wedding receptions and sit down dinners, or maybe a cocktail party with canapés for which late night licences are available on request.

The menus are predominantly British and reflect an honest approach to seasonal food cooked to the highest standards. This is coupled with an extensive 350 bin wine list that simply offers both great variety and quite exceptional value for money. The room also boasts its own private bar and facilities.
