Insider View

The Leonard hotel is classic and a slice of real tradition in the centre of London. Just moments from Marble Arch, this regal venue is a charming spot for a formal function.

The private dining room, the Portman room, is on the first floor and is accessed by a staircase in the lobby. It has huge windows thanks to its status as a historic townhouse. A large banqueting table seats 16-22 and the site is ideal for business meetings, pleasant and proper. Facilities as with most hotels are perfectly adequate for your needs, including a plasma TV, wireless internet, flip chart and air conditioning. Plenty of lunch and dinner options are on offer and the cuisine is archetypal British fare. You’ll certainly be well looked after at the Leonard, staff are eager to help and the venue offers timeless service.

The décor is in keeping with the tradition of the building and is classic and highly decorative. Huge floor to ceiling curtains in gold flow at the windows, headed by a valance in green complete with tassles. Original cornices are present. The floral carpet matches the formal dining chairs in red. All items are expensive looking and highly ornamental; the mirror is rich in carved detail and a chest of drawers is spectacular and presumably antique and well crafted. On the walls is a painted marble effect which is very convincing and by the mantelpiece are two beautiful sketch prints.

A perfect place for long-established values and conventional service, for rich decoration and a great British menu, the Leonard hotel in Marble Arch is wonderful for weddings or meetings. It is a place so rare today, where the service is as flawless now as it would have been yesteryear.
