Insider View

Appearances can be deceiving. From the outside, the venerated Langham hotel in the West End of London will convince you that it is indeed 1865. Fresh as the day it was built, it’s a five star hotel that is precious to us Brits for its impressive architecture and history. However, step through the automatic revolving doors and you’ll be pleasantly surprised to see tradition makes way for modern day opulence.

Superb, massive marble columns greet you in the hallway. These are new feats of design and craft akin to their ancient counterparts but all belonging firmly to the 21st century. They are the result of a frankly astounding £80 million refurbishment that reached its crescendo only last year. What with huge glass bead chandeliers and rich panels and textures, it makes for a jaw-dropping entranceway.

Leading you downstairs is a hip floral carpet in attractive purple hues. Feminine touches are prevalent throughout The Langham but they are carefully considered and far from girly. Think stylish not sappy. On the lower floor are seven newly refurbished meeting rooms equipped with all the mod-cons one could need for social and corporate events alike. They can cater for dining parties from 8 to 40 in size and are each comfortable, elegant and immaculately groomed.

The cherry on top is the new terrace garden that can be booked out for canapés or pre-dinner drinks prior to the private dining experience. With a location right in the heart of the West End and with the magnificent backdrop of the hotel itself, the terrace is bound to get your guests buzzing.
