Overview

The Clarendon restaurant is set just a stone's throw away from the hustle of Portobello Road, in amongst the leafy streets of Notting Hill.

The private dining room at The Clarendon benefits from its own waitress and an adjoining cocktail bar and terrace. The dining table itself is Elizabethan and made of oak, it can seat 12-18 people comfortably and is beautifully lit with church candles to create a relaxed, personal and intimate feel.

The set menu is priced at £30 a head and can be viewed on our website.

We can cater for both pre and post drink receptions in the adjoining cocktail bar and smokers have full access to the sun terrace.

Insider View

You’ll feel like one of the coolest kids on the block at this funky venue. Combing grand with hip, it’s the kind of venue that sees people lingering on from brunch to lunch to dinner.

The private dining facilities are on the first floor with huge ceilings and massive windows looking out onto a lovely neighbourhood. The main eating area holds an impressive oak table with bench seating for up to 18. The table is in fact a rustic and antique masterpiece crafted in yesteryears long before and is ideal for a feast. The walls are deep dark grey, the ceiling crafted with beautiful patterned tin and the copper panelling on the walls is quite extraordinary. With candles galore and character oozing from design features left right and centre, The Clarendon is infinitely cool.

Moving into the lounge area the colour scheme continues with the addition of mismatched armchairs and seats, both fashionable and inviting. There’s a lot to take in as you glance around, from the fun stag and antler lamps to fresh flowers and ornate mirror frame behind the bar. Given that the current management took over and gave the space a total overhaul in July 2009, the private dining rooms are genuinely cutting edge and entirely enjoyable for that reason.

This open plan area continues onto the delightful roof terrace with decking, big leafy trees and the backdrop of the gorgeous building itself. It is a captivating part of Notting Hill for a pre-dinner drink, especially with extended sunshine hours well into the evening.

Visitors to this retro and relaxing place meander through the bars and dining areas at their leisure. With such a cool ambiance and enough eclectic spaces to see you through the day and night, you may just find your guests are reluctant to leave.
