Overview

Tempo Restaurant & Bar opened to great acclaim this summer, with Fay Maschler calling it ‘a terrific addition to Curzon Street.’

Occupying two Regency townhouses just around the corner from Piccadilly and Berkeley Square, in the centre of Mayfair, the atmosphere is welcoming, relaxed and convivial.

The intimate first floor private dining room is richly coloured, with large windows, textured wallpaper, period features and a beautiful fireplace. Heavy burgundy velvet curtains and luxurious upholstered seating add to the warmth of the room.  It can be combined with the Bar next door, with its floor to ceiling windows and magnificent Rococo panelling, for exclusive hire of the entire first floor.

The room is suitable for breakfast meetings, lunches and dinners seating up to 24 people, or for canapé receptions and private parties up to 45.

Tempo’s food is at its heart Italian, flavourful, simply prepared, featuring the freshest, seasonal produce, minimally handled.

The wine list is a small, eclectic selection of 65 wines, primarily featuring top small producers from Italy, and exciting finds from elsewhere in the world.

Our seasonal Private Room Menus start at £39 per head.  There is no room hire charge although minimum spends will apply.

Insider View

Tucked away above the opulent streets of Mayfair is a touch of cosy sophistication.

At the Tempo Restaurant and Bar, Curzon Street, the private diner can take delight in its warmth and exclusivity.

The private dining room and bar is situated above the main restaurant, on the first floor of a double set of beautiful regency townhouses.

Whilst sitting and enjoying a good glass of wine in their gorgeous bar, and feeling welcomed by the warm lighting and gentle music, you cannot fail to be impressed by Tempo’s 19th century classical-cum-contemporary furnishings and décor. Green velvet arm chairs and modish bar stools sit comfortably by the building's original fireplaces. Here, modernity meets a sense of time honoured class.

And the private dining room is just as special. Hidden behind burgundy velvet curtains is Tempo’s ‘gently sophisticated’ gem. Low lighting and candles immediately set the warm and intimate scene, whilst white table cloths and burgundy velvet covered chairs fill this delightful room.

Four round tables invite six diners per table; alternatively 18 people can be seated on a single oval table. For a standing cocktail or canapé event, 45 people can comfortably enjoy a room full of content.

One large window and two large mirrors on opposite walls fill the room with natural light and a sense of ample space. On the mantelpiece of another original fire place, and on each table sits tasteful flowers, complementing the floral patterned wallpaper.

This room is situated directly next to the bar on the first floor of the restaurant; private hire of both rooms together is available – perfect for dinner, drinks and dancing.

Entertainment is made easy – with a music system and helpful staff happy to arrange bands or entertainers for the evening.  Equally if business calls, the private room is available for events such as breakfast meetings or corporate dinners. Useful perks such as free wi-fi and table menus with your business’s logo are available.

With an Italian heart in its cuisine and an English townhouse body, filled with ‘pizzazz’, period features and good taste, Tempo Restaurant and Bar is a cherished delight.
