Overview
Located on the ground floor of the Tea Building at the corner of Shoreditch High Street and Bethnal Green Road, Pizza East opened in October 2009. With the option to eat in or take away, Pizza East offers affordable pizza in a casual, urban environment.
A semi-private dining table holds up to 16 people, and can be found within the restaurant, ensuring plenty of atmosphere at the table. A bespoke Pizza Party menu is available for parties of 11 or more guests.

How long have you been at the restaurant?
Since we opened Pizza East in October 2009.
Which was the first restaurant you worked in?
I started at the tender age of 8 or 9 washing dishes in my parents restaurant in France called Le Bonnie Boche.
What was the last London restaurant you went to, apart from your own?
I think it was Trullo.
Which London restaurant is your favourite and why?
I like lots of different restaurants at different times, but the pasta at Bocco di Lupo is the best in London.
What or who has been the biggest influence on the way you cook and why?
Probably travelling to other countries. Tasting the restaurants.
What is your personal signature dish?
I like working with seasonal fish and shellfish.
Which other chef(s) do you most admire?
Any chef who works 15 hours a day in order to produce the best possible food under the pressure that a modern kitchen in London has.
What’s the best part of your job?
When a new chef finally understands how to prepare an artichoke without being shown.
And the worst?
I love my job!
What would your last meal be?
Probably something spicy.
Do you have a chef’s shortcut that you can share with us?
Always use sharp clean knives.
