Overview

Located on the ground floor of the Hoxton Hotel, Hoxton Grill is a neighbourhood restaurant in East London, serving an American inspired plentiful menu.

With comfortable banquette seating, bar, lounge and outdoor garden, it is a place to meet and eat in a relaxed atmosphere.

There are two private dining rooms available for evening hire at Hoxton Grill, each seating up to 22 people formally for dinner, or holding up to 50 people for a standing reception.

How long have you been at the restaurant?

I have been at the Hoxton, since Soho House took over in June 2009.

Which was the first restaurant you worked in?

My first full time chef job was at the Athenaeum Hotel in Green Park.

What was the last London restaurant you went to, apart from your own?

The last restaurant I went to was The Hawksmoor in Seven Dials ...fantastic steak!

Which London restaurant is your favourite and why?

My favourite restaurant is St Johns - great meat and offal, great puddings and great service.

What or who has been the biggest influence on the way you cook and why?

Henry Harris and Dave Miney, head and sous at the fifth floor Harvey Nichols during 1997-2001. Working for really knowledgeable and passionate chefs and having a daily changing menu meant a great environment in which to learn.

What is your personal signature dish?

Signature-Scallops with Oxtail Marmalade.

What’s the best part of your job?

To teach young chefs who are willing to put in the effort to progress.

And the worst?

I don’t think many chefs enjoy the paperwork too much!!

What would your last meal be?

My last meal would be Foie Gras Terrine, Chutney and Brioche.
