Overview
Alloro in Piccadilly is a restaurant celebrating its tenth year in a prime location. With wonderful, elegant décor and a tantalizing Italian menu, it’s no wonder it’s packed every lunchtime with happy diners.
The most striking aspect of the décor is its Earth inspired design. The concrete panels complete with hand-carved leaf motifs are unusual and beautiful. The marble panel on the back wall displays gorgeous fiery shades and the wallpaper is a clever ribbed plasterwork effect, somehow timeless and contemporary. With wooden surrounds, simple leather chairs and a fantastic parquet floor, Alloro is a soothing and stylish space to be.
The private dining room is tucked away next to the kitchen and can be closed off behind frosted glass doors. Seating 8 around a central table or up to 16 including the bench seating, it’s a cosy and informal dining area that is great for casual meetings or jovial celebrations. The plush leather chairs are in deep burgundy, the benches and walls a mix of grey and beige and the tiled flooring gives a clean look to the space. A plasma screen is optional and fresh flower decorations adorn the white table cloth.
A second semi-private option is also available by the kitchen where a round table with high backed benches allows for an intimate meeting for small groups. For large groups up to 40 the entire back area of Alloro can be cordoned off. Il Baretto bar flows well from the main restaurant but breaks with the more subtle colour scheme with its funky teal walls. It makes for a great space to start your evening with a pre-dinner thirst-quencher.
Of course, the appeal of this venue in Piccadilly also rests on its wonderful Italian fine dining menu. The Head Chef Daniele Camera is a native Italian and is keen to impress with seafood, meat and pasta dishes. Seared scallops, rabbit and spinach pasta parcels or roasted duck breast are just some of the delights on offer. Accompanied by superior Italian wines, you’d be hard pushed not to enjoy every morsel of your meal.
With a great atmosphere, fresh and interesting interior decoration and food to die for, this is a fabulous place to enjoy the best of Italian hospitality and fare.
